Manifesting Your Reality, Dreams & Desires
Much controversy exists over the actuality of anyone really being able to create what happens in our lives or more specifically, to create more money, happiness, health, weight-loss, ideal relationships, or the myriad of other things we so fervently desire. It has, however, been undeniably proven over & over by so many people that its reality & its exponential power can no longer be refuted.
Most of the time it is subconscious, but we can harness it
for our ultimate personal benefit if we just know how.
There is too much evidence in too many people's lives to ignore the potential & the tremendous power inherent within it. Our minds are VERY powerful, and our thoughts, like everything else in the universe, are energy. Energy is constant and always in motion. It is the directing (whether conscious or subconscious) of this amazing energy that creates
the events, people, success, money, health, prosperity, as well as the
lack of these things we want so dearly & occasionally so
desperately to happen for us or to us.
Here's an example from my own life:
When I got blitzed from my job last December, and I was telling my son about it, he calmly looked at me and said simply, " Mom, sounds to me like you manifested this."
I had to think for a moment, and then realized he was right on
target. A long series of events, people & things had built up
over a two and a half year period... the greater part of it being a
100-mile daily commute that was taking its toll on my strength & robbing me of my energy & joy. There wasn't enough of me left to be the kind of person I needed to be, either at work or at home.
Something had to give.
And so, the job came to an end. It really was no surprise, for
once the snowball started rolling down the hill, it had gathered enough
trees, boulders, stray cattle & fence posts to bury a small city. I had truly manifested my own destiny.
I was worn bone-weary from the stress plus little things here
& there that added up until the culmination & the end result.
Much of it was subconscious, but the intent was still the driving force.
Energy in motion again.
This is only a small example, but it was powerful. It didn't end the way I would have had it end, but it did end. And so, we need to be careful what we place uppermost in our minds. A famous quote which I still respect & use today is "Currently Dominating Thoughts Are Goals"
and I believe this with all my heart. I've lived it over &
over in my life & seen its results in other people's lives, as
well. Another way I've heard it said is "What We Think About, We Bring About."
Therefore, what we dwell on is vitally important.
Think about how you feel when you are really scared
about something... an upcoming promotion you may or may not get, an
interview, a first date with that special someone, a trip alone to a
place you've never been before, or even something scary like a lump you
found on your body that doesn't belong there. Fear is our BIGGEST ENEMY. Whatever
we concentrate on only becomes larger & larger, whether it's good
or whether it's negative. It almost grows exponentially.
What You Think About Constantly, Becomes Your Reality
That's why it is so vital to think & concentrate ONLY on positives & things you WANT in your life, & not focus on the things you don't want. Your mind is like a computer, it does not hear "NOT" when you say, "I will (not) be afraid of this test result (or whatever it is you are worried about)" Your mind hears this: "I will be afraid...." Similarly, "I will not eat that chocolate bar, I'm on a diet." comes through to the brain
"I will eat that...." And on it goes, every day in hundreds of ways.
It's a constant. It's mind-power at work.
That's why we have such a hard time dieting or quitting smoking or whatever it is. We need to manifest our desires with POSITIVE statements which reflect that we have already achieved the desired outcome. That's the secret. But, it's also the really hard part (besides releasing, which we'll cover next).
It isn't easy without lots of practice
to say, "I am enjoying driving my black Lotus convertible, I love riding
with the top down on sunny days and feeling the wind in my hair*."
when you are driving whatever it is you can afford right now & not
that Lotus you want to own. At times it feels almost impossible,
or at least foreign to our thinking.
Another example is a smoker trying to quit & saying to him/herself:
"I enjoy great health as I live my life free of smoke." because it's
hard to say when you are desperate for a cigarette at that moment and
yet simultaneously fighting the urge because you really do want to quit.
See how many you can come up with that are
unique-for-you affirmative statements for your own life.
There are many great books on this subject, one I know is excellent is
Wayne Dyer's "Manifesting Your Destiny" and it is so powerful, I had to
put it down several times during my reading of it, because it literally blew my mind. A dear friend of mine uses his affirmations every single day to combat the insidious disease of codependency. He has a wonderful website about healing your Inner Child with many helpful articles & essays about relationships & other important issues, as well. There are many resources available, these two just popped into my head first.
Making It Work For You
Like anything, it takes LOTS of practice to become proficient & to erase the negative tapes than run in our minds from childhood. Once you establish the affirmative statements you wish to utilize to manifest your desired outcomes, you must ACT AS IF the event, thing, person, object, whatever it is, HAS ALREADY HAPPENED and you are presently enjoying the benefits of it. This is the key to your success with this powerful and effective use of your own mind.
Lastly, Release It.....
I know, it sounds counter-productive to just let it go,
but you must, in order for the Universe to do whatever it needs to do
to create it. If you hang on to the desired outcome, then you are trying to write the script, and this does NOT work. Others have tried in vain, and only make more of the negativity they were trying so hard to erase. You simply affirm it, then LET IT GO.
So, to recap.... decide what your dream is. Write it down as positive statements, as if they have already occurred & you are presently enjoying the benefits of it. Repeat these statements daily & visualize yourself living the outcome now, in the present, not some distant future goal, but right now. And then, release it. Let go of the outcome. As the saying goes, "Let Go And Let God". Trust the process, it works. Just remember to practice it EVERY SINGLE DAY.
Before you know it, your dreams will become your reality.
