"Making It Happen"
It's been a long time coming, but I think you'll find our premiere issue both enjoyable & beneficial to your life.
Since the InspiraSeed©
is mainly focused on three of the most important areas in our lives, I wanted
to touch on something that I think you will agree has a direct bearing on
all three of these things. It starts before we are born, really, but it also continues
on as we grow from little children clear up to our present age. The how-to has
even been relatively 'foreign territory' to many people growing up (I was unfortunately
one of those people.) I know that I'm still learning how.by Donna L Maher RN ~<<*>>~
Not one of us can really do anything concrete about wealth, health or happiness if we don't have a plan. Some take it all for granted. It sounds sort of odd when you first think about having a 'plan' for happiness or health. But... if you really think about it, we are the results of our thoughts. We are the culmination of all the input from our childhood and on up to adulthood. Most of us grew up with some pretty varied notions about where money comes from, how to relate to others & what to expect out of life. Unfortunately, there is not now nor ever was a formal university for this. The way we feel/think about ourselves & the degree of happiness & inner satisfaction we feel are all relative to what was put inside our brains from day one, by others, (our parents, teachers, friends, coworkers & mentors) as well as by our own selves. This also has been proven to have a direct bearing on our physical health status (aside from being born with a debilitating or hereditary disease) as well as our emotional health (ie: happiness) & our financial success. Thusly, Input equals Output
without exception. Imagine for a moment, growing up in an abusive household, what kind of 'input messages' about love & human relations & compassion does that produce? Yes, some do overcome it, but some do not. Sadly, abuse isn't just about physical beatings (or worse) but it can involve the emotional kind, too (either in addition to, or solitarily). Those subtle "slams" & insults to our budding egos that permeate our psyches until we start believing that trash is actually our 'truth' have tremendous impact on our happiness & health quotients. It becomes our personal reality. (Think about Dr. Maxwell Maltz's work.... his fascinating book called Psychocybernetics. Human beings can actually program themselves to accomplish amazing feats & produce phenomenal results without even actually physically practicing these events prior to achievement! It's all done with THOUGHTS!)
So, we can choose to discover our inner strengths, and utilize goal-setting to achieve our dreams, or we can choose to settle for status quo. Most of the very successful people we know or have read about, set their success up as a goal at some point. A bare minimum of people actually have had their good fortune literally to fall into their laps. Instead, they had a plan. They had goals & dreams. They took the steps to make it happen. Action is the key. We must not let fear rule us any longer.
Goal-setting is relatively simple, it's the action part that kicks most of us in the pants! So how do we intensify our desire until it becomes a passion? It helps to visualize our personal benefits, our detailed list of what we would gain for ourselves & our family when we attain our goals. If the goal is a HUGE amount of money, for example, we can't just picture a pile of money. We must clearly & precisely visualize all of the benefits that money (or whatever it is we passionately desire as a goal) will bring to our lives & see them clearly & in great detail.
Pretty soon, the intensity of your desire for the benefits of your goals starts setting the directions for you to go, honing in on the accumulation of that money. You might think of a second income doing something you love, for instance, or of starting your own business, or finding a better-paying job. The actions in your life then start automatically moving you toward your goal because of the passion you've generated. It's an unspoken law of the universe. It also works negatively, so we have to be VERY careful what we input into our minds. Thoughts Become Goals
There is an old adage that sums up the next step: "Write it down & make it happen" and this is so true when we want to create something in our lives, or manifest it, if you will. The abstractness of our thoughts becomes concreteness when we pen it. It gains more credibility, becomes more substantial & more "real" to us. The job isn't finished after the first drafting of our goals & dreams, though, for we need to fine-tune it, rewrite them until they speak to our very souls.... and then repeat them every day, somehow, to ingrain them deeply & cause the effects we desire. It's a really cool process, actually. The next step involves gathering information & finding people who have already achieved what you are wanting to do & learning from them, asking them questions, & researching your goals. You may also write down any potential sidetracks you might foresee, so that if they come to pass, you will have thought out alternate plans & be ready so that you won't get discouraged & quit. The first thing that comes to my mind is goals for quitting smoking or dieting here. For example, what if my goal was to be a size 8 by a year from now, and I knew that there was a big birthday bash coming up that every year I attended faithfully & ate like a horse & gained 10 pounds. That's a little 'goal roadblock', so I would need to set myself up an alternate plan, perhaps drinking a quart of water before I went there, taking smaller portions, not partaking of the liquers or desserts, & setting my mind to enjoy the people I am going to see, rather than the food I relished so much in the past. You just don't want to get caught without a viable alternative.
The next step is to have deadlines for your goals, your plans, your dreams, your visions. It would be unrealistic to say to yourself, "I will make one million dollars by next month" but you could set it for a couple of years & it would manifest if you worked diligently with your plan & stayed on target & had realistic steps toward achievement of same. Set small goals, with shorter time frames, that point toward your main, larger goals with their longer time frames. You can almost chart your progress like a graph by doing this. It also inspires you to action (there's THAT word again :-) along your path to personal success at whatever you have deemed your most passionate desire. By setting time frames, deadlines, for your goals, you have a very good chance at achieving them because you subconsciously work toward them with more fervor. If there is no deadline, we tend to get lazy or worse, lose interest entirely.
What if this goal happened to be a "Happiness Goal" instead of money....say it was a self-esteem goal, where you set a year to love yourself more. For ten months, you have worked diligently at your Inner Child Healing, for example, and had gained miles of ground, and then an unexpected ego-shattering event happened ... and you feel like you backslid clear to the starting line again. This would discourage most anyone, and cause some to even give up. This is where you must re-run the mental movie of you feeling successful, happy, loving toward yourself, smiling, interacting appropriately with peers & loved-others, and FEEL the success of reaching your goal. Then your goal is reinforced, and so is your determination to reach it.
Instead of letting negative thoughts or negative others interfere, we need to continually remember & reprogram our minds toward our goals. Replace negativity with positivity & continue with passion until we override the temptation to give up. Something I found to help a lot is a free reminder program, wherein I put my goals & affirmations that get emailed to me every day (several times daily, actually) and it helps a lot to keep my goals in the forefront by reminding me often. Perhaps it could help you, too.
Pretty cool little site & it's FR^E!I do hope that this first edition of InspiraSeed©
has been helpful & informative for you. I have had fun researching
& creating it. The hardest part was to let go of my desire for
perfection & "just DO it" within my timeframe. Thank you for reading
& for being part of my subscriber family, and may 2003 be the year in
which we all achieve our goals & dreams.
